ANL bikes

ANL’s  Bike Share Program is back in session for the 2025 season with free-to-use bicycles now available as an eco-friendly option for commuting across the Argonne campus. The Bike Share Program provides employees with an environmentally friendly, healthy, and enjoyable mode of transportation while promoting wellness in the workplace.

The new bicycles are equipped with:

To ensure the safety of all riders and compliance with regulations, participation in the bike safety training course ESH561: Bicycle Safety is required prior to signing up for the program. In lieu of the training course, Department of Energy (DOE) employees, non-employee students, subcontractors, and long-term visitors, such as scientific users, must complete a liability waiver (ANL-877).

Helmets are required for all bicycle riders on campus. Upon completing the bike safety training course, participants are eligible to receive a free bicycle helmet. Bike Share Program riders are responsible for replacing lost or damaged helmets.

Before you start riding, claim your helmet by presenting your online course completion certificate at either the front desk of Building 460, the Argonne Guest House, or the APS User Office in Building 401. Helmets must be returned upon the conclusion of your employment or appointment. If either location is out of helmets, contact bikeshare@anl.gov, and you will be contacted when one is available.
