GSECARS saddened by loss of Mikhail Eremets, a valued colleague and acclaimed high pressure researcher. Mikhail Eremets passed away on Nov 16, 2024. He was an acclaimed scientist in superconductivity, including the discovery of new phases and properties of elemental hydrogen, nitrogen, sodium and other substances. As a GSE user from 2008 through 2019, he published 15 publications citing work done at GSECARS. All GSECARS staff mourn the loss of our friend and colleague Mikhail Eremets.
