Every year since 2014, NSF’s ChemMatCARS has participated in teaching for the APS Neutron and X-ray School.  Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, the National School on Neutron and X-ray Scattering (NX School) was held virtually this year. 5 graduate students from various institutions within the US attended virtual beamline practical session hosted by NSF’s ChemMatCARS, including lecture and experimental session. Dr. Mrinal Bera gave lecture on “Quantitative Determination of Spatial Elemental distribution in nanomaterials using ASAXS” and demonstrate some of the basic concepts of Anomalous Small Angle X-ray Scattering (ASAXS) in the virtual experimental session.

Dr. Mrinal gave a lecture to 2021 Neutron X-ray School participants

Dr. Mrinal Bera led a virtual experimental session at Sector 15 at APS.
